Much WIPPY Much Work…WIPs, Ideas, Shenanigans, Paranoid Schizophrenia, SEO hypocrisy…..

From a recent FB post by me….it got long and I haven’t really been able to get much work done at all due to personal, health and technical problems….but here’s some some of that sweet sweet info….

“Ill let you in…if you like my group on……faaaaaacebooooook….” from “Let me in” by the great Marc M.

    WIPs:

  • 1. more of my web-content to post as audio…like a hybrid blog/podcast…I got a sweet recording device at radio shack …going out of business fire sale 80 bucks for the gadget I wanted….the only better model has a a bigger SD card (which I have) and includes an FM radio….who the f— needs FM radio? Anyway its $300 less than usual…if i didn’t buy it the liquidator will take it for $5-maybe. had to buy it.
  • 2. finally created a multi-track recording (you know…like a vocal track laid down w/ headphones on to keep time but record my voice/instrument only?) Always thought the second track would need to hit the downbeat or the post at the exact same time….nope. Only needs to-be IN-TIME. time_shift(); is so sweet…it’s all relative man…..
  • 3. if you haven’t already….some of you will get a note about a special project I’m working on in a PM.
  • 4. Got Approved as an author on answers.com now too

(lots of traffic, but the more I get into web design the less proud I am of the quality of what it claims to do—–answer questions….I’d like to write some decent stuff, cuz all the other “writers” submit hacky formulaic, SEO blog bull— like “10 Things you NEED TO KNOW about the new iPOD” —(starting a sentence with a number is horrid grammar and violates AP Style…but it seems to jive with search-crawlers so EVERY POST we have looks like this; (we even have a template: degrading the English language may be the only thing I find offensive)….”8 Movies you haven’t..” … “5 crucial steps….” “20 must-haves….”

  • This is just shenanigans so my first article may attack EVERY SINGLE OTHER AUTHOR on grounds LCD, copycat, subhuman, drooling moron web authoring.
  • feel free to submit a story idea…even a story..ill publish it and give full credit.
  • Considering: “Twenty Ways I can tell your work is designed to be indexed and ranked by machines-not read by human beings.
  • Also have:
  • Thirty LinkedIn Profiles that are programs not real people OR…
  • Three countries that do not belong on the World Wide Web.
  • Five critical security holes in Google Products. would be fun… but there is a potential to create harm there and it breaks my ethical code.

…I also found a SJ Merc article that I haven’t read because someone is alleged to have embezzled (which I think means “skim” who cares, right? little off the top never hurt anybody not really news ….to The Merc it’s news cuz the guy is a BAR Member practicing in the SJ-area….it’s VERY NEWSWORTHY TO A VET/FRIEND/FAN/SUPPORTER of West Coast Drum Corps and probably well-known to all corps types worldwide cuz this was …….a soloist ….who made a….you know…that one finals show we ALWAYS watch at big get-togethers….usually for the people who have NEVER SEEN IT? (and to make the people who get creeped out by it…like me….get creeped out – because of shared sadism I suppose?)

I usually can’t watch or listen because I find it disturbing. I won’t print the corps name or the yr cuz you KNOW. You may be one of the people who gets a kick out of the [incident] and watching everyone squirm and cringe (you sick sick animal!) So this anonymous individual was in the Merc …I was always told he was never heard from or seen again. Not going to link to it….sorry…way too much info posted

Youtube’s Content ID threatens Tapper’s Memorial Music Video….

I never thought this was a threat. I thought was POSSIBLE but it seems to be happening…for all the wrong reasons though…..

Ill just say what happened then below there will be a lot of processing of ideas, memories, most good. accented by moments, days or years of grief. It comes back when I lose a piece of that past. Like pictures, stories. I cannot replace my eulogy of my Dominique, which I did in a way she would have wanted – combining my musical talent with performance experience, sound recording and editing, from college, with what she taught me about shooting and editing video.

I can’t ever explain to anyone how much I still love her….my memory get’s worse. At the same time every record I have is constantly chipped away at. The final 8 seconds of my lament was “Matched Content” to something visual...it won’t just be you who can’t see it, or me who won’t be able to share that two minutes and two seconds of human emotion with you….I’ll lose it too! here is no backup …the laptop was stolen about two moths after I uploaded the .wmv file.

GIVE IT BACK TO ME! Or MONETIZE IT AND TAKE AALLLL OF THE AD REVENUE (this was done on my youtube vids looooooong before this website was approved to RUN ADs.) I don’t get paid NOR WOULD I IF I DID. 38 people have watched it all the way through it besides me sice I posted it…it’s probably 38 people who care about me. It’s sad enough that my least relevant ramblings on this site are worth more than an art project I spent six weeks on. It isn’t enough for me to give my artwork away for free? A third party wants to take it?

I normally argue “Fair use” and explicity state it on this site to protect the content and it’s availability…There’s about 100 copyrighted chunks of text I have left dangling unedited because I have not the time to clean it up but I need it available to interest to the public until i do…. 3rd party man…you can’t flag my original work for shit —THAT’s what you flagged! 8 seconds of ONE of MY TWO MUSIC VIDEOS!!!

Readers please —-visit my memorial page for Dominique….It’s at the TOP of the right column on this page. The video may get pulled soon. It expresses my feelings better than my words could ever do. The text is my best attempt at an epitaph…had I written one, it’s a poor excuse I know…better keep priorities where they belong. there are a few anecdotes and In my not-normal fashion I link and recommend her blog, explain how you can help her family and I also link and recommend her step-mom’s blog. Despite my bias it REALLY IS a good blog. I wouldn’t trash it either if I didn’t like it…I just wouldn’t mention it at all. Dominique’s stepmom is 1 on myshortlist of 5 blogs I’ve located of any redeeming quality whatsoever. I tthink I have spent at leats 2 minutes on over 4000 blogs this year. The page will stay up. The video may not play.

LET ME BE CRYSTAL CLEAR BEFORE MY WORDS GET TWISTED OR DISJOINTED:

1. This is not the fault of Google.com

2. Code running on their property Youtube.com that is called CONTENT ID is making mistakes. Harmful ones.  Please review TCP/IP Protocols HTTP, HTTPS and w3c, Standards. I’d would also Like to see if either client or server is ISO 9001 certified. My assumption is that YOUTUBE IS compliant, and will take no action against my youtube account or that post that my production residing there being threatened by a 3rd party

3. The 3rd party is located in Germany. I don’t trust Germany. Germany’s like….the worst country to have ever existed. ever. -not “Nazi’s” …Nazis.

my intitial rxn follows (posted to a technical site that was relevant and active on this subject):avail: http://waxy.org/2012/03/youtube_bypasses_the_dmca/index.shtml

never thought this would be an issue…

My fiance’ passed away after a cancer relapse and part of dealing with it (which was not possible nor is it) was to make a music video that was original and self-published EVERY FRAME and EVERY SOUNDWAVE could not possibly be matched to a content ID submission. But the sound is irrelevant in this case, the last 8 seconds of VIDEO was claimed…it’s a short, three-panel-slide that says…
1. For ****her name****(only her first name due to my vast awareness of media law including privacy and copyright)
2. Rest in Peace My Love
3. fin

UFEA (????) made a claim on that 8 seconds of 3 strings with a gray background and blue left-border I made using the “windows media creator studio” I had at that time.

UFEA is like a european soccer league! wtf?
I’m the arranger, performer, recording engineer, I filmed MYSELF, I carefully edited it and it took me months to make it perfect I posted it to youtube for archive reasons and lucky I did cuz that laptop was jacked 2 months later. that was over 2.5 yrs ago…

Some soccer league can have my last words to the love of my life if I can have the 1:44 of audio and film back. My artwork (that one most of all) …I put there for safe-keeping. My youtube account isn’t monetized…I have no cameras or mics right now but my site is …BY GOOGLE…the policy says they aren’t responsible “UFEA” (???) is…I’m at loss but to rescue the audio and see if it’s possible to rescue the video. b4 it gets pulled. I disputed as soon as I read it was red-flagged…I know the law – I break laws sure – but not media laws im a musician/writer it’s my goddamn job! Thanks to the author of this page for highlighting something I WISH I HAD KNOWN yesterday. (The 1st two blogs were shams as usual)
Regards ..etc etc…

Legally AT BEST if you review the entire composition I Could be compelled to run ADS on it….I would at least get it back.

It isn’t the music btw! I will post the text of the warning here too. It’s visual content….the cast majority of the content is MUSIC. I tastefully edited the content match my feelings so I can remember them. Content ID found an issue with a fixed camera that is shooting me playing a farewell ballad to my lost love..my closet and lamp are in the background….I’m in the foreground. (For about an eighth of a second) Then three animated pages of text will scroll….“For Dominique” “Rest in Peace my Love” ….fin.

In 2012 I transcribed a melody from “The Love Theme” (Dances with Wolves) by John Barry. from transcription to developing the melody into a solo, all the practice I put in– 30 or 40 takes …agonizing over the sound and video editing….

When my partner/best-friend/love-of-my life passed on in 2012… I kind of lost it. No I DID LOSE IT. I worked for months to create a very special music video for Dominique….something to remember her by. The day after we met, she came over and was asking me a lot of questions about who I was…and what I liked….about my hopes and dreams—so I told her about “Drum Corps” I told her about VK and SCV and the Renegades….unlike most non-drum-corps hacks she was interested I showed her the picture of 97 Santa Clara at DCI I had posted to my wall.

Then she asked if I would play for her. (Almost no-one outside my corps-circles pseudo-expert musician circles EVER asks me to play).

I picked my 1991 Kanstul 3v Baritone Bugle in G(w/ tune-any-note slide, VK stamp on the bell and original Jack Meehan all-purpose tuning system marks on it!)  and said “sure I’d love to.”

Normally I’d play a quick warm-up and then just improv…but I really wanted her to like me and my horn and the the combination of the two. I have a library of licks to pull out for any occasion…I’ve been a big fan of “Dont Cry for Me Argentina,” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita” I liked it when there were TV commercials for the show as li’l guy and I liked 1981 Santa Clara equally well. It’s my favorite song of all time…she was my favorite person of all time …It was as true when we first met as it is …closing on three years since she passed on.   *whew*…..

So that’s what I played. She liked the my sound…more than I thought she would. She was interested by it. she liked the sound. She liked me . It was 1 of 1000 reasons to fall for her immediately. She listened to drum corps music with me… it wasn’t forced on her the way i normally impress it on new friends “if you want to get to know me you have to listen to this….” No. Dominique WANTED to hear corps music. She listened to 91-97 BD. 86 BD, 89 BD…all 81 SCV, 84 SCV 87-92, My yesr – 97. 95 Madison. 96 Rockford. 89 Star. 93 Star + my accompanied commentary on each. She deserves a medal for sitting through that.

Her nickname for me was “Drum Corps Guy,” “you’ll always be Drum Corps Guy,” she said. She usually called me Christopher. I like that. I like being “Drum Corps Guy.”  We met in August of 2009. Half of the last 5 years…she’s been gone. Three months after my best friend Rich Skare died, Dominique died too. It’s still impossible to comprehend that kind of loss. I definately blanked out several months from Jan 2012 to about mid-July.

“Drum Corps Guy” was still around then though…he even bought a nice camera and a laptop for recording “Drum Corps Guy stuff”…

I started putting together a solo arrangement of “The Love Theme,” from “Dances with Wolves,” by John Barry. I always tear up during the flute solo….same as I tear up during the oboe solo in “The Love Theme,” from Braveheart. I was very slow in transcription as usual …but it’s in G (concert D). There’s several octave and majot 7th intervals. It took me longer to get throught it w/ a noticeable frack than it did to write it.

This was not meant for my repertoire of “licks” though… it was going to be a multi-level creative project to record my feelings at that time. I combined my ear training, brass technique, sound-editing skills from college and filming/editing education from Dominique…to put them all together and make something. For her. There were at least six weeks between putting pencil to paper and my final cut of “The Love Theme v2.wmv” arr. cwelke. In the end I recorded about 40 takes….maybe more. I spliced the best cut of 1 section with my best take the last (lest I did 100 or 1000 takes…) the audio is seamless…the video “ghosts” a little bit…but it fits my purposes.

I spent a great deal of time in post production on 2 minutes and 3 seconds of music and video…I layered in a sepia tone and learned how to max-out audacity’s ability to clean up the track. I used a default program that came with my laptop called “windows media maker” (or something like that) I have neither the knowledge or $ for Final Cut….same goes for Audition.

In all the finished product was good. I was happy with it. It caputures my feelings from that time…It made me feel good to watch AND listen to something I’d worked a long time on I felt better if nothing more than it distracted from sadness…when I was missing Dominique really badly…I pick up my horn and play my new arr. of The Love Theme, or Don’t Cry For Me Argetina, Clowns or You’ll Never Walk Alone…outside of drum corps, I like to play “I Remember Clifford,” with Lee Morgan’s version in mind….. “A Time for Love,” feat. Bill Watrous* or if I can’t play there’s lot’s of songs in my vocal range that are passable, “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” -The Band, “Dead Fowers” -Townes Zandt. “Melissa” -Greg Allman…..

That’s all for now…There is a web-tool i mentioned on this site I’ll be using to recover my track from National Socialism and return to America where it was created and belongs. “Fucking Gremans man!! Fucking nazi’s….nothing ever chamges.”-Walter..The Big Lebowski, Dir. by The Coen Bros.

//extra material the Departed and the transcription process

Dominique was a published film critic. Everything I ACTUALLY know about writing for the screen is from her. She was equally interested in my music critique’ as I was in her film critique’ (and all the writing we did….)…

I have “reletative pitch” that means if I’m actively playing I can hear a note before I play it so I do not frack. I can also tell if I’m over 5 cents sharp or flat. Nut if you hit a random key on the piano and say “what note is that?”  I can’t tell you without testing. Likewise with no instrument if you say “sing an Eb”… It’d take me minute to remember a concert C…then I can sing the 5th, then the third….then picture the triad going minor and give you an Eb….in other words, I can sing/play in-tune  w/ precision and I have a framework in my head links notes and some chords in my memory….I wish I had perfect pitch but I don’t. Transcribing a solo is a slow process for me…w/o a chord chart I cannot transcribe in > 3 part harmony (even that is REALLY PUSHING IT)

I CAN ARRANGE so long as I have the chords written down, or tabs or whatever. Fortunatly a G Bugle makes the key of C, D, E, F, F#, G A and B very accessible and much of the old-school corps-classics are in major and minor forms structured on these keys.

My arr. of “Don’t Cry for me” is in of B (Emaj for Concert instruments)

My arr. of “The Love Theme v2” is (mostly) in G (Dmaj for “CI”) I added accidentals and grace notes, changed the tempo volume and added personal emotion that can only come from in a musician is a specific instance . It cannot be reproduced even electronically w/o losing significant fidelity. The original recording is is as close as I or anyone else can ever get.

I am again rendered speechless. fuck. me. this is such bullshit 12 hours on THIS ALONE. Not even close to finished with work I must do ASAP.

YouTube Pulls Chris Hadfield’s Elegant/Viral “Space Oddity” Video….

A photo of Chris Hadfield aboard ISS

****Tapper’s Sunday Morning Digest****

One of the most elegant, moving cover-songs/videos ever made is no longer publicly available.

David Bowie licensed the song to Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield to create a music video while aboard the International Space Station.

Hadfield recorded the audio down here on earth before he was rocketed into space, where he spent most of his time….monitoring systems. ….he knew there’d be a lot of downtime.

Scientists/Astronauts are afforded a unique opportunity on the ISS, but also conduct long-range studies in zero-gravity. Frequently there are precious few people aboard the ISS and all of them are deeply enmeshed in mission critical systems, maintenance and research. It is said to be a “beautiful prison.” “desperately lonely.” …it’s also time for valueble research and a lot of thinking. Where else can you get a look at “the big picture” than from space? It’s a perspective we can understand, but never comprehend.

Hatfield turned downtime into value using cutting edge visualization of zero-gravity, time-lapse photography of orbits around the earth at nightfall and expert music performance/recording a cover of “Space Oddity” on acoustic guitar with small sound-bed’s from Bowies’ original track (like the count down 10….9…..8…..7….6…….) with a  lilting, mournful piano and a balanced drum-kit....it is heartbreakingly beautiful.

The resulting combination of technical imaging and artistic expression was posted to YouTube. Views grew geometrically-with web-users sharing the video across Facebook, twitter, Google, and other platforms.
…taken down just recently, it had over 22 million views.

Hadfield w/ guitar in zero gravity picture
b-roll from actual music video

Not exactly “Gangnam Style” but a remarkable success in North America for reminding us of the nostalgia of our shared past, and technical-audio-visual capabilities of our present. Hadfield’s expertise in engineering and music breathed life and energy into space exploration in a creative way.

This clip has the audio, and carefully altered video to keep it from the notice of Youtube….the author interlaced most of the video with b-roll from “Gravity”***(see my footer on security, fair use and legal protection you’re covered by IF you access relevant audio/visual HERE. I do NOT recommend searching for a pirated copy it may contain malware, or you could be flagged by your ISP, clients could put their server at risk. This site is the only safe place to hear the audio and view clips of the video please give it a listen before it gets pulled… Hadfied’s cover is gorgeous but the visual-component has only about 5% of the of the actual video, Bowie’s count-down intro is removed and replaced. It has 4000 views, but these and others like it will trend and get blocked soon so please enjoy, especially if you’ve never heard it….this may be your last chance— as for the complete, historic, viral inspirational video? we may never see it again. WATCH/LISTEN BEFORE THIS VIDEO IS PULLED. CHRIS HADFIELD IS NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO PERFORM THIS SONG UNLESS BOWIE MODIFIES THE LICENSE HE GAVE TO HADFIELD. THIS COULD BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO EVER HEAR IT OR SEE VIDEO LOOSELY RELEVANT TO HIS PROJECT.

In Bowie’s original song, The beauty, isolation and concern for the safety of “Major Tom” by “Ground Control” highlighted the societal fascination and fear with space travel, the inherent beauty of NASA , and The Apollo Missions– it’s subsequent technology and massive contributions to education, machines and electronic of every kind. The microprocessor, digital technology, major progress in materials engineering and household products of all kinds
….by-products of technologies The Apollo Program required to put Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the Moon.

By 2011, The Obama Administration retired the space exploration program indefinitely…with “hopes to restart it” at an unknown later time.

Even Nasa’s Blog expressed the sadness felt by a generation of scientists, inspired by the space program and given the case to sustain it forever by Carl Sagan.

This writer cried when that shuttle came down. Americans cannot get into space without “3rd-partyshuttle services” provided by constituent governments involved with the ISS. I thought about Carl’s hopes and dreams about our future. Carl is kind of spiritual father to me….he died in 1996. In 2011 I thought “Carl would be deeply saddened. Profoundly…” I knew the moment the last shuttle landed it would break his heart. It subsequently broke mine.

A picture of the ISS
You cannot get from the US to the ISS since 2011.

As of September 28th, 2014… Americans must “hitch a ride” from other nations in order to access space.  There is still no discussion in the legislature or executive to even consider bringing it back.

Hadfield is Canadian, but was no less effected by the dawn of the 70s Space Age...when kids thought “science was cool” and if you asked any child of the 70s what he wanted to be he grew up, “I wanna be an Astronauts, just Like Neil Armstrong [or Buzz Aldrin]”

It was the first thing since that tragic day in mid-2011 to give me hope for the future of space exploration. We humans seek the unknown by nature, we learn…there is nothing left to see on the earth or the moon and robotic craft like Voyager I and II mapped most of the solar system…..but as of today there is still no official program to send humans to Mars, though it has been proven there could be an American station base ON Mars BY 2020 if the gov’t would fund it.

The administration said a shuttle progran is “too expensive” and “wasteful in a depressed economy” When in fact; sending 5-10 Americans to Mars to establish a functioning colony would show massive ROI across the American landscape. PBS artist Melody Sheep uses auto-tune to mix catchy beats with scientific/cultural media. His “case for Mars” sums it up better than my prose:

Bowie licensed “Space Oddity” to Hadfield for 1 year with options to renew. The reasons are unknown why Bowie cancelled the renewal. Perhaps it will appear as an iTunes/amazon download……perhaps he isn’t making the money he feels is deserved for his contribution to this viral project….and his timeless track that inspired it’s initiation.

As a human being though, he is harming the inspirational nature of Hadfield’s project, it’s ability and contribution to moving society away from war, terror and fear and back into innovation, creativity, exploration and peaceful solutions.

When Obama cited financial concerns” regarding space explorations, saying the “program is to be placed on hold indefinitely,” Noted Theoretical Physicist Neil Degrasse Tyson said on “Real-Time with Bill-Maheravail: HBO/HBO-GO that “The defense department has spent $14-trillion since the Afghanistan-campaign began,” $14-trillion, if stacked in $100 bills beginning on the floor would reach from here to VENUS”” (!!!) The cost to maintain a small fleet of space shuttles, an adequate secure-base, ground control, systems maintenance and process validation, fuel etc….it could all be maintained at Vandenberg Air Force Base or Edwards Air Force Base in California…..or The Kennedy Space Center in Florida, or other staging/deployment zones w/in the US for less than 1 percent of what we spend to kill “brown people”

Afghanistan is where Lithium is mined. Lithium is needed in batteries, computers, medicine and all sorts of electronic and mechanical infrastructure. It’s a vital resource. I must also note that 90 percent of the opium is grown and harvested in and around Afghanistan. KBR has been wanting to build an oil pipeline running directly through Afghanistan—>That’s probably unrelated….KBR’s subsidiary Halliburton wouldn’t drain $1 trillion a year from taxpayers just to build a pipeline, would they? hmmmmmm…. Afghanistan has important, valuable natural resources….it would make far more sense to spend all those trillions on R&D – which would include a sustainable colony on Mars as opposed to military and military contractor work. After all…once those resources we need so bad are stripped clean, what would we do then? There are other sources of energy than Litium and oil, Likewise we have synthetic painkillers ever stronger that opiate derivatives. Getting back to research and creativity isn’t just the right thing to do, it a better business strategy.

If you’ve taken and intertest in the first three installments of “The Cal Poly San Luis Obipo News Archive” I’ll be connecting with more sources and source material you won’t find in traditional media. My intent is to document the hard news stories that have been buried. Bring the stories back to life, show responsibility and respect for the families of the victims and remind the university that they may operate above the law inside their isolated system, they may also manipulate local law enforcement…but they do not operate above ME. UC Berkeley is in deep trouble for the same thing. Again, I’m not investigating my alma mater to grow this site. It’s the RIGHT THING TO DO and the surge in traffic is a by-product of that. -Tapper7.com – unfiltered truth since January 2014.

On legitimacy, responsibility and my attempt at both (fully revised)

What makes this Web page legitimate? Should you trust what you read on this site?

NO!!!! Don’t trust any blog site. In general there are common themes in  blogs that are yellow-flags(read but don’t trust), red-flags(main page offers the best product/service EVER at a LOW LOW price, and …blackhat blogs that will attempt to use scripting to take over your computer entirely. If it is a business website they will attempt to strip SSN, Bank routing numbers, credit card numbers, PINS and bleed you dry. There are poorly made attempts at this in the eastern world. There are people who can hack into your BANK (your bank is more more secure than any government agency)…they can still get in.

Don’t even bother…I have everything you need to know if you are seeking approval from Google Adsense, WHY I applied and a primer on responsible ad placement and usage from a professional journalists standpoint who is also brand new to “professional blogging” as opposed to my previous iterations of blogspot.com personal journals I that are still I keep only as archive material to be picked clean for your information and amusement at which time I will index them from the web myself.

There is a metric that gives you a little insight into legitimacy.
tested:
****Tapper7.com rates slightly above average with search engines…it’s how most of you found the site. (thank you for going to page 3, 4 ,5 to find me unless you were looking for “Tapper” or “Tapper7” in which case it will be easier to bookmark it in some way, just take a sharpie and draw it on the drywall.
It has been tested for quality of design and multi-platform functionality by the me obsessively and by several 3rd parties at the client, server and at the reader (user) level. I’m uclear on how to properly state that I’m approved by the Google Adsense program and what it means about me, the site and you. I will try though. I could locate only a handful of requirements offered upon application from the company – and all 3rd party info is shameful attempts to bypass and ruin a system that is certain to become even more exclusive than it was….I should have waited …but im glad I did not, it could easily go on 100% lockdown at anytime now.

If yours is legit—submit it now.

Most blogs are not accepted into this program. They are dedicated to illegal downloads, pirating, compromising online security…..etc. The name and descriptors/categories and other tags do not match the content. Many sites function only as spam-bots. They index every site possible to back link to themselves, appear to have tons of traffic increase their search engine rank and try to scam advertisers or sell a worthless site whose real value is 0 or less than 0. This led to the recent “has verified owner actively posted content for over 6 months?”-TEST.

Malicious sites from China and India are flagged for this, but the rule applies to all domains now.

Here are some metrics Google used to audit this site:

  • Is documentation avail. proving author-ownership of the site?
  • Is there is easy to contact The Webmaster of Tapper7.com?
  • Is his name, address, email, age verifiable?
  • Does this site meet design standards?
  • Is the content and design w3c compliant?
  • Is the site growing? Does the site meet a minimum standard of audience size?
  • What is the ratio of new vistor/returning visitor?
  • how many pages do they visit?
  • how long do they stay?
  • Is it easy to navigate?
  • Is content structured by category? does content match these categories?
  • Is there a sub-index of tags for quick-access to other subjects in the posts?
  • Is it structured in abstraction layers making it easy to index?
  • Is a standard format used?
  • does the code he used indicate an working knowledge of communications via the Web?
  • Is the author’s really written by the stated author?

All of the above can be verified by a big-ass algorithm and processing power. In the spirit of being honest with my audience, I added a metatag to the site that IDs it as “Mature Content,” I deal with mature themes like violence, murder, rape, drugs, and I have a tendency to veer into jokes that are in poor taste, are offensive, contain racism or misogyny…everyone gets bashed EQUALLY. No one is safe from my jokes or my criticism. It’s all clearly labeled up front in my visible text and embedded so your browser can see it. Parents can set any browser to exclude my site because I tagged it as “Mature”—-Google will not approve “Adult” sites…by that they mean sites that publish pornography.. I didn’t look up any of these rules. I submitted my site for the highest level of validation available on the internet….it was approved by an extremely complex algorithm that everyone else claims to understand. I don’t understand it myself—-> but I can deduce most of what data it vacuums up, how it process the data and the parameters and probability of APPROVED vs. CHANGE & RESUBMIT. I don’t know how long it takes if you aren’t approved on the first try – I believe it is three months. (???) The probability of a random blog being approved is <1% or maybe zero. A completely legit site …probably better than mine in every way..will not violate the written rules, but nobody has the real algorithm – if they did it would be OBS w/in a week

Ethically I have a duty to tell you that I’ve enabled Google to post advertisements on this page and others. I clearly label every section that I allocated ad space to per SPJ code of ethics. ads are allegedly targeted to the demographics of what I post and who reads it. Most readers are educated, lower-middle to upper class, open-minded, interested in technology, always learning, tolerant and intelligent….w/o those qualities you wouldn’t “get” this site. 3rd parties I’ve allowed to post ads are carefully screened by Google…are they as legitimate? SHIT – BEATS ME! They are safe though. to be on my site…some of the pages load a tad slower, ill be ill be working on that to improve the experience for everyone associated with Taaper7.com.

In addition to class, readers predominately reside in LA/OC, the Bay Area, Chicago and New York. Without specifying company names-  I noted a specific brand of a major American car company, a high-technology certification program located where many of you live, a brand new high-end-mobile phone, an expensdive men’s clothing line, a post-graduate software engineering certification, a master’s degree Accounting program and an MBA program.  It confirms what I had always assumed was true of MOST readers. My target demographic.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo News Archive Part 3: Genius Abuse

Let’s take a break from murder and rape for a bit…I want to relate a unique anecdote….this was not a news item but another thing that happened that indicated massive corruption to me early on….

It’s February, a brand new millennium. I have a great professor who had the ability to help me understand object-oriented-design. without his help, I would’ve flunked out of my computer science classes, placed on probation and booted. He’s a good guy, a great teacher. He saved my ass.

He’s also a genius. Unquestionably. with that normally comes w/ quirkiness – strange behavior. This associate professor had worked at IBM, JPL (and subsequently NASA)…most Cal Poly professors have PhD’s…it’s likely required. Let’s call him “Carl” (in honor of Carl Sagan). Carl graduated from CalTech – with the only doctorate they offer: (clinical science and medical science programs are avail, but the MD is granted via UCLA or USC)

From CalTech’s Graduate Program online reference:

    Doctor of Philosophy

The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is conferred by the Institute primarily in recognition of breadth of scholarship, depth of research, and the power to investigate       problems independently and efficiently, rather than for the completion of definite courses of study through a stated period of residence. The work for the degree         must consist of research and the preparation of a thesis describing it, and of systematic studies of an advanced character, primarily in science or engineering.

Translation: there is no program….you present a comprehensive study and solution for a real world scientific problem with NO HELP OR ADVICE, all by yourself. Carl never said what it was …considering he worked for JPL it is probably classified.

Carl ended up at IBM because he was head-hunted away from JPL/NASA….they offered him a LOT of money…by the 90s IBM’s market share was being erroded by Compaq, Dell, HP and Gateway. We’ll never know what they paid him but I assure you it was probably triple his salary at JPL.

The problem with IBM is that Carl’s a genius, he doesn’t want to design a better processor to run Windows on….he also doesn’t like the corporate environment-a cubicle? HR seminars? Politics? 25 bosses? deadlines? performance reviews? this doesn’t work for a creative mind that is incomprehensibly intelligent – the right and left brain both firing on all cylinders. Carl was either fired or quit….he didn’t want all that money, but he still needed a job.

So he took one at Cal Poly. Why not? For all the bad things I’ve said about Cal Poly, w/o our Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering alumni there is no Silicon Valley. No Intel. No Oracle. Graduates can build an operating system; they can create a new programming language AND a compiler for it. For CSC majors, after a brutal 101-103 freshman program, sophomores get the 205-206 brutality slave-labor program (if you don’t LOVE building software, you will quit after 205 or during 206 (Teams of 5 or 6 “get to” build an enterprise system for the university or the city. I had a choice between rebuilding the Cal Poly Computer Science Web Site OR build a card-reader system for the bus-system in SLO (Like a day-pass for OCTA) – YES it has to work and yes it actually gets used.

So the city or the college can farm out every upgrade, problem or project to subsequent students who do it for free! “Learn by Doing” Right?

I’m off-topic, back to Carl.

The two classes Carl taught me were concerned with Object Oriented Design; an abstract way of writing code and structuring it in more of a human way and less of a machine way.* He never demanded outrageous workloads like the other engineering professors, these were lab classes so had to verify our theoretical understanding by assigning real world problems and testing the solutions we designed.  A lab project could take 2 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks, or some (I have one) never get solved.

Carl’s way of teaching (he wasn’t a teacher….as I said) always made it so the complex problems were easy to “divide and conquer” that is, to break a large problem down into x sub-problems, then separate each down into x(squared) easy problems, solve those, which will solve x and assemble the x to solve the original problem. I had to bash my head against the wall for 100 hours a week sometimes just to finish 1 dumb project that someone who “got it” could finish in an afternoon. He gave me confidence, made me feel like “not an idiot” as all the other profs and CSC students had…

I even made a friend in his classes, we had mutual respect for each other cuz we were both getting B’s (that’s a big deal a 2.0 is considered just fine, even though a 1.9 in one 10-week qtr puts you on probation, a 2.0 the next qtr takes you off of it – I graduated with 2.8 – a C+) We also weren’t people who had been programming since they were 5 yrs old. It made me wonder why CP accepted me into the major? I qualified for the Engineering College, but from day 1 it was clear that expertise in math and a love for video games did NOT qualify me to compete with anyone. Had he not taught me QUICK…I’d never made it past sophomore year.

Carl comes in one day. Late for class. He looks REALLY PISSED. This was not uncommon. He was always friendly, but he never seemed happy….he had this blank stare sometimes and I detected something(s) personal or tragic were still bothering him or ongoing. He was red-faced and sweating….he just sort-of paced around the room while we sat there, maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

He was about to say something. He was trying to decide whether or not to say it….most likely HOW to say it

Carl was probably the first to ever come right out and say what I was already feeling at the time about the college: greed, lies, perception – common themes so far.

Finally he relaxed and walked up front.

“How much money do you guys think I make?“——I was stunned. Everyone was. What the FUCK…is he talking anout?

“Seriously…I want you guys to think and as soon as you have a guess call it out.”

Nobody raised their hand or said shit….but I was definitely thinking about it. WE all knew he had a PhD from CalTech, that he’d spent about a decade at JPL/NASA and that he’d come from IBM as a Sr. R&D project manager at IBM….in 1999 his salary at IBM couldn’t have been less that 100k. I knew he’d taken a pay cut….prob a big one to be here…he wasn’t tenured, but this Cal Poly – Engineering – Computer Science. You can’t apply for a job like that. IF they ever need someone….they’ll find an established, possibly world-renowned software theorist. Someone famous among software engineers at minimum.

It was in-between 40k and 60k… it HAD to be. when he started asking us individually, most were guessing between 50k and 80k. That was a bit high, but he was full-time this was his only job.

“Chris – how much?”

“uhhh….you probably get like $50,000 a year?”

Polling the whole class indicated we thought he made about $60,000+. Then he projected the over head on the white-board. It was a copy of his paycheck for the previous month, he’d blacked out his SSN, but everything else was there….more personal info I’d want a classroom full of software engineers to have, that’s for sure. He was payed by the College of Engineering by a payroll clerk, monthly….and it said that he’d been paid $1200 for the previous month.

Ok, wait, what? That’s $300 a week. I knew he was putting in 50 hours easy….that’s SIX DOLLARS an hour. My first real job was at Starbucks…I started in 1997 and entry-level was $6.50 PLUS I got an extra 3-4 bucks per hour in tips. He broke it down that way too.

“I make less than minimum wage….[he went on to explain because he’d been there less than year there was some provision that made him an associate professor but somehow he wasn’t accredited, or some rule change had come through and his monthly check had dropped significantly] …My rent is $1000, this isn’t enough for me to EAT!”

He said he had some money saved up from IBM and that without that and barring a significant change to “What they promised me…” He’d quit. and they he went on at length about how he’d “been cheated,” and “lied to” that “he had offers from other universities when he left IBM but Cal Poly  offered the best incentives to him.”

They said he’d only work about 20-30 hours a week, that most of it would just be office hours, where he could do whatever he wanted plus have access to all the same research tools he’d had at IBM (If anything we probably had better). To become tenured you HAVE to conduct research AND publish…for most it’s commentary in professional or academic journals. If there’s anyone I wish published a book on software design, it’s him. His software runs on the Hubble Space Telescope. He was told he’d make about $45,000 a year with bonuses for student performance, peer-review, admin-review and publishing papers and books. He’d been conducting research and publishing results in professional journals for 20 years, he was still doing so.

Most journals are like online forums, you establish credibility by working and publishing, but the I don’t that JAMA gives any money to doctors for publishing research….it’s just a major honor to have the most respected publication in your profession print YOUR work.

One thing every company or contractor or client I’ve ever worked for either explicitly states- to NOT tell co-workers, supervisors, customers associates what you make. It’s a firable offense at many companies.

This was the first time I’d ever had the inkling that professors were being scammed. Whatever the power structure was…the associate professors are definitely not part of it.

Companies like Sun Microsystems (now Oracle), HP, Intel, Silicon Graphics, Applied Materials, Cisco Systems POURED money into computer science and computer engineering at Poly. Carl left sometime in 2001…the dotcom bubble blew up, but so did the WTC…so whatever $ Cal Poly lost out on from all the big companies that were laying off 1000s of tech workers, most pulled the plug on donations I’m sure, but the DoD, the CIA, DARPA, DIA, FBI and the newly-formed Dept. of Homeland Security MORE than picked up the slack to keep churning out 1st class engineers from 1st class Engineering Colleges….so Cal Poly didn’t lose a cent.

As for Carl…if he had any trouble finding a diff. job when he left…it’s almost guaranteed he was folded back into government software research or a contractor like TRW, KBR or Raytheon.

I’m sure he’s fine. Better off w/o Cal Poly….

*****COMING SOON****** ill mention the professor “acquired” as depy. chairman post 9/11. He worked for AT&T….sort of. During the cold war the DoD got a big security project approved…..In the event of pre-emptive nuclear strike….how would communication lines stay open? The project required that land-lines have multi-tiered failsafes…ever notice that your land-line works when the power goes out? No? cuz of your cell phone…well it does. It was a project that took 20 years. this particular maniac was the project manager. That means reworking the land-line system to withstand hydrogen-bombs landing across the continent would not effect your ability to call Washington from Sunnyvale….that was HIS RESPONSIBILITY. I’ll mention that and a few other changes made post 9/11 coming soon.

*It is still the gold standard for every program used today. Major OOD languages are listed in order:  Smalltalk and LISP, Eiffel, C++, Java, .NET, Python and C#. Java was the the most cutting-edge language, so Carl taught me to write both in C++ and Java. This theory of design is evidenced by the browser you are using to read this, the operating system your iPhone, tablet or console runs on (OS X, ios7, Windows 8, Android KitKat) all of these were designed using objects and implemented using one of these languages or non-object languages that have since been re-designed to BE object-oriented (COBOL, Pascal, VB, Ada and C)

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo News Archive Part 2: Brian Gillis

This assertion appears in many subsequent posts. The scope of what you are about to read is massive and touches on every single aspect of what is wrong with the closed-system comprising the university, the city, the chamber of commerce, law enforcement, the media….Cal Poly generates a massive income stream for this system and w/in it…it is above the law. As a Senior++, I failed to provide the amount of research and coverage that Brian Gillis and his tragic death deserved.
A photo of Brian Gillis

I will NOT fail him or his memory again. What follows is the message. Patricia Gillis, Brian’s mother, sent to me yesterday. I actively avoided the city and the university for over a decade. Only in the last few days have I even checked in with online print media, one of which I was a staff writer and both of which I deplore. In my request for more information regarding the death, this is what she wrote to me using my contact form:

“Mr. Welke, I just came across your site today, 9-21-14. Thank you for posting the information regarding my son’s death at the hand of evil Sigma Chi brothers and Alpha Phi sorority sisters as well. This is a hard time for us right now as Brian’s birthday is Oct. 11th and he would be turning 32 this year. Also, Brian was on a USAir flight from Providence via Pittsburgh to San Diego on 9-11-2001. He called us about 2 hours after the WTC tragedy happened to let us know his plane was next for takeoff when Pittsburgh closed their airport. Being raised Irish Catholic and attending Catholic schools through high school, I often ask God why he did not take him then, instead of letting him die the way he did. We proved in our civil suit without a doubt who sold the GHB to the frat, David Seminsky, and who had mixed, Matt Heintz, and had it stored in his refrigerator well in advance of Brian consuming it. SLODA and SLOPD promised us they would make an arrest when the civil suit ended, which is the only reason we settled, but then they just continued to drag out the manslaughter statute. But, these punks can still be arrested for 2nd degree murder because the GHB and Gatorade was mixed ahead of time and they knew exactly what Brian was ingesting. We also proved that Brian did not know there was GHB in the Gatorade he drank, per Nick Potter. There is so much corruption involving Brian’s death. I hope you continue to keep Brian’s memory alive as well as all the other Cal Poly students who have died under suspicious circumstances and were brushed under the rug. As far as I am concerned, Cal Poly is a death trap more than most colleges. I have worked in education my entire career and am well versed with the ongoings of corruptions at the college level with frats and sororities. Also, the “red hand prints” that were painted over at Cal Poly is another major issue. I believe Dan Blackburn, along with a lawyer found out that Cal Poly, SLO at the time of Brian’s death had the highest rape crime rate of all the UC and State Universities in the state of California. Sidenote: Sigma Chi and Alpha Phi are brother/sister chapters on most college campuses in the U.S.”

Let’s pull the bullet points out—for your consideration:

  • Gillis wants to know why God did not take her son on 9/11
  • The dealer’s name is David Seminsky
  • the man who mixed the faderade’s name is Matt Heinz
  • The District Attorney LIED to Brian Gillis’ family-instead let charges cycle through a complex PC array*
  • There is eyewitness testimony in open court from Nick Potter who stated that Brian Gillis didn’t know the drink was laced
  • Potter’s words are almost indisputable-Perjury is a PC 118 Class D FELONY (4yrs-CDC)
  • Gillis said her son’s death involves “so much corrpution”
  • She said that fraternities and sororities are corrupt— based on her professional experience
  • Cal Poly is characterized as “a death trap”
  • The name of the fraternity is Sigma Chi that has a “sister” sorority Alpha Phi
  • In my 1st draft of this featured post, I specifically remember a report on “Rape per unit capita” and that San Luis Obispo was #1 in California. I can’t remember if Dan Blackburn stopped by the Clear Channel Studio at 51 Zaca Ln. or if he called or emailed us, but at the time it was difficult to generate reports like that, he was one of a select few resposible journalists in town … in another post I mentioned that I had no contact information . If you are out there Dan…my name is Chris Welke, I was a staff writer at the “Mistake” Daily around 2001-2002 but did most of my reporting at 93.1, in 2004 I produced the morning news at KVEC and was a fill-in guest and/or call screener for “The Dave Congalton Show.”
  • Re: Patricia Gillis’ statement:
    1. I can’t read all the way through it without getting choked up.
    2. I’m conflicted about whether or when/how her son may have passed on earlier and whether or not that is “better” but Brian Gillis died in an awful, run-down, decrepit and very dangerous place. I can verify this. Gillis died in the worst part of the “white-ghetto,” (Stenner Glen) with my awful studio located on the same block. The act itself occurred along California Street – “Fraternity Row” aka “Rape-Central.”
    3. She ID’d the man distributing date-rape drugs and the name of the man who probably paid for it and made the infamous mixture that was the immediate Cause of Death in official reports. That’s what I want – NAMES. We finally know “who” this was IMPOSSIBLE to figure out when the story broke, my few sources close to the frats knew it was Sigma Chi but they all went on “a camping trip” the same day Gillis’ body was found. hmmmm…..
    4. From the information I have, were I the DA, I would charge both under PC 192(b). Manslaughter is “the unlawful killing of a human being without
    malice.”-PC
    (b) Involuntary--“in the commission of an unlawful act, not amounting to felony; or in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death, in an unlawful manner, or without due caution and circumspection. This subdivision shall not apply to acts committed in the driving of a vehicle.” -(PC)
  • This is a felony charge (4yrs-CDC) I’d select this as the most likely to yield a guilty verdict. We are now aware that a settlement was reached, indicating both men likely have criminal defense retained…as of this draft, the SLO District Attorney says the are stuck in the ID# and Classification phase needed to open a felony case and issue an arrest warrant.
    5. Gillis asserts that both men can be charged under PC 188. “Such malice may be express or implied. It is express when there is manifested a deliberate intention unlawfully to take away the life of a fellow creature. It is implied, when no considerable provocation appears, or when the circumstances attending the killing show an abandoned and malignant heart…. (etc)” -PC
  • Key description: “an abandoned and malignant heart” it is awfully poetic for the California penal code…to me it describes what happened. Because it is a Class A Felony I would NOT file charges under this because:
  • 1. Guilty verdict probability reduced— heavier burden of proof on the state. The sentancing guidelines being “15 with an L”
    2. If convicted they would be eligible for parole after 7 years…. THIS IS A BIG IF STATEMENT….it is better to be certain both are convicted on felony counts, where they will enter the CDC/Parole system which will ruin their livesSo where do we go from here? Ill be writing more stories and editing that massive amount of content I just generated to increase its value…The San Luis Obipso District Attorney is funded by the taxpayers of San Luis Obipso County, I am not one of them but I was from 1998-2004, I can almost guarantee there is no way to get ahold of and ADA’s but there is no reason NOT to pester them with emails and phone calls. My question is: “I was informed by the family of Brian Gillis that you are processing charges under Penal Code 192 for Matt Heinz and David Seminsky? Yes….why haven’t you filed charges yet…Brian Gillis died 10 years ago….yea….I understand that you can’t comment regarding an ongoing investigation can we please speak off the record this is a matter of some importance…..etc.” In abstract: are other cases involving suspicious death, agg-assault, 1st degree burglary, attempted murder, attempted murder with GBI, attempted murder with Gang Enhancements, (for US Attorney: kidnapping, tax-evasion) and  sex crime also stuck in a some theoretical Penal Code ID/Class Loop? I call shenanigans on that. I’m not an attorney, but I see enough evidence already to issue warrants for the arrest of Heinz and Seminsky on suspicion of manslaughter, file 1 felony count of 192(b) against both and if any physical evidence of the drug exists an additional concurrent count of Felony sales (GHB) for Seminsky and felony possesion (GHB) for Heinz (HSC Section 11377)
